Federal Regulation Title VI
Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 requires that discrimination based on race,
color or national origin be eliminated from programs receiving federal financial assistance.
Federal Regulation Title VII
Title VII prohibits discrimination because of race, color, religion, sex or national
origin in all conditions of employment at Westmoreland, such as the student work-study
program.
Americans With Disabilities Act
The ADA is civil rights legislation designed to ensure that people with disabilities
will not be discriminated
against and to bring them into the mainstream of public life. Students with disabilities
in postsecondary settings are eligible for appropriate accommodations in accordance with
Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 the Americans with Disabilities Act
of 1990, and more recently, the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendment Act of 2008.
Accommodations are made to provide equal access, not advantage. The student must still meet the academic standards of the class.

You will need to follow certain procedures that will be discussed.
Federal Regulation Section 504
“No otherwise qualified disabled individual…shall solely by the reason of his/her
disability, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subject
to discrimination under any program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.”

Federal Regulation Title IX
Title IX is a federal regulation prohibiting the discrimination of any person in the
United States on the basis of sex. This includes acts of exclusion from participation
in, denied benefits of, or subjected acts of discrimination under any educational
program or activity receiving federal financial assistance. In addition, Title IX
prohibits sexual misconduct, such as sexual harassment.
