Jacinda Floyd of Murrysville will don a cap and gown at Westmoreland County Community College before she walks across the stage to receive her diploma at Franklin Regional Sr. High School. At 17, the ambitious teenager will receive her liberal arts associate degree on May 12 after completing 60 college credit hours while still in high school.
Westmoreland County Community College celebrated the graduation of 20 police academy cadets from its Municipal Police Officers' Training Academy, Class 57 and Class 58, during a ceremony held Monday, November 21 at the Youngwood campus.
Collaboration will allow students to save on tuition and provide a smoother transition to Carlow.
The Richard King Mellon Foundation's Trustees approved a grant of $205,000 to Westmoreland County Community College Educational Foundation, Inc. toward two-year support to provide free and innovative mental health resources to students and their families.
